LIVE OAK COUNTY (KIII NEWS) - The Live Oak County Sheriff's Office arrested Thursday a 24-year-old teachers aide from Three Rivers High School accused of having an improper relationship with multiple students.
Maegan Harless was taken into custody Thursday when she turned herself in to authorities on a warrant that was issued for her arrest. She was released on a $25,000 bond the same day.
According to an arrest affidavit, it was Oct. 20 when the high school principal reported to the Three Rivers Police Department his suspicions that Harless was having an inappropriate relationship with two students. An initial investigation revealed that the relations occurred outside of the TRPD's jurisdiction in Live Oak County, so the investigation was turned over to the Live Oak County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office said that both students in question provided sworn written statements describing the inappropriate relations they had with Harless, including sexual intercourse. During a recorded interview, Harless admitted to the behavior described by the students, which happened on or around Aug. 29 and Sept. 2 at her residence in Three Rivers.
3News reached out to the Three Rivers Independent School District's Superintendent Mary Springs regarding the case Monday, but was told the district has no comment.
