Southside owl in the hands of TSA rescue

The Texas State Aquarium wildlife rehabilitation team will try releasing the owl in a natural environment away from humans but somewhere in the proximity where he was found.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - 3News brought the story about an owl who was making friends on the south side and even garnered a following on social media. The owl was captured late Thursday night by a game warden and was taken Friday morning to the Texas State Aquarium rehab facility.

"The owl has been a bit stressed out so right now he's in kennel rest and be there for 24 hours for observation," Alyssa Barrett said. 

After kennel rest and observation the rehab specialists will come up with a care plan.

"He's gonna get put outside away from a lot of human interaction and live prey trials to see if he can hunt on his own and determine his reliability from there," Barrett said
