CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - The Texas Water Development Board in Austin approved Monday funding that will help with Hurricane Harvey recovery in Aransas County.

$700,000 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund was given to the Holiday Beach Water Supply Corporation in Aransas County. The corporation will use the assistance to finance the planning, design, and construction of a Harvey disaster recovery project.

After suffering considerable damage from flooding, high winds, and power outages, the project will allow the corporation to make repairs at the water treatment plant and will be able to replace sections of pipeline damaged during recovery and clean-up efforts.
