CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - The Nueces County District Attorney announced Wednesday that a recent murder suspect is believed to be the driver who killed a one-year-old child in a hit-and-run accident.

Police said it was back in August mother was pushing one-year-old Royalty Coleman in a stroller across Everhart and the child was struck by a passing truck. The driver did not stop.

According to the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, the DA's office confirmed Wednesday that 22-year-old Tyler Farmer, who was arrested in connection with the shooting death of Gilbert Sierra III on 18th Street earlier this month, is believed to be the driver of the truck that hit Coleman.

Police have not made an arrest in the hit-and-run case but prosecutors said they are investigating Farmer's connection to that crime.
