Solved: The suspicious clown was really a clown, just not a scary one

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Corpus Christi police were called out to Tuloso-Midway High School around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday after reports of a suspicious person dressed like a clown, but they were never found -- until later in the afternoon.

The report was made by a bus driver to district administrators -- a person dressed as a clown in a vehicle near McKenzie and Leopard Street. All schools in the district were placed on lockdown, even extending that lockdown through the rest of the school day. But around 3:30 p.m., a photo was posted on Facebook from a school administrator from Arlington Heights private school -- a school down the road from Tuloso-Midway.

It was a picture of a student dressed as the Mad Hatter from Disney's Alice in Wonderland. The school was having a homecoming dress-up day, inviting students to dress as Disney characters.

TMISD adminstrators said despite the false alarm, it was a good chance to test their emergency preparedness.
