Texas Attorney General Paxton on Harvey related crime claims

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was in town Friday and discussed the amount of Harvey related crimes that have occurred over the last few months.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was in town Friday and discussed the amount of Harvey related crimes that have occurred over the last few months.

"We are in the process. Now we do civil. We are doing more consumer. We've filed several lawsuits. We've got more, they are called civil demands. So we are out investigating those," Paxton said. "We have to actually go out and get the information to make sure there is a reality."

Paxton said more than 5,000 complaints have been filed in his office by people claiming they have been victimized. The attorney general believes once his team investigates all the claims, they will be filing hundreds of lawsuits.
