DRISCOLL (KIII NEWS) - The journey home for Thanksgiving travelers turned into a traffic nightmare for some folks on South Texas roads.
Headlights stretched as far as the eye could see on US Highway 77 this evening near the town of Driscoll.
Drivers we spoke with had to pack their patience as they inched their way from Bishop to Driscoll.
Jake Sharron told us, "it's been crazy!  It's been crazy!  I guess everyone is going back home from the holidays. Lots of traffic."
Mario Gonzalez who was driving from Houston to Kingsville said, "oh man!  it's the same way everywhere right now."
Drivers tell us other backups were reported near the Sarita Checkpoint and on I-37 near Odem tonight.
