The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign begins

Raises about a quarter to a third of their year round budget so important for them to have a successful red kettle bell season.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - It's that time again when shoppers will be greeted by the sound of The Salvation Army bells ringing at stores around Corpus Christi.

The Red Kettle Campaign is one of the Salvation Army's major fundraising event of the year and all proceeds support year-round programs and emergency assistance benefiting those in need in the community.All money raised through the Red Kettle Campaign will remain in the community where it was collected. 

In 2016 The Salvation Army in Corpus Christi raised $200,000 in kettles and this year has a goal of $225,000. The Salvation Army will be looking for Volunteers throughout November and December to help ring bells. Guest who attend the event will receive volunteer information as well as hot chocolate, or coffee.
