CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Hundreds of your friends and neighbors turned out to our Kiii-TV studios Tuesday for our quarterly job fair, many of them walking away with jobs.
The event featured representatives from more than a dozen Coastal Bend employers, but there are many more jobs up for grabs -- 3,000 to be specific throughout the 12-county region of the Coastal Bend.
While those jobs include everything from laborers to engineers, there are a couple of areas where the demand is great.
Monika de la Garza from Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend said the jobs in these specific fields are in great demand. One of the major needs for manpower comes from the pending construction of the new Harbor Bridge. She said everything from field engineers, forklift and crane operators to welders and carpenters are in high demand for the project.
If you are looking for a job, have construction skills and want to work on the new Harbor Bridge project, Friday is the day for you. Workforce Solutions will hold its Harbor Bridge Project job event from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at its Sunrise Mall Career Center.
