Traffic stop leads to drug bust in Bee County

A traffic stop by a sheriff's deputy Monday night led to the discovery of drugs near a school in Bee County.

BEEVILLE(KIII NEWS) - A traffic stop by a sheriff's deputy Monday night led to the discovery of drugs near a school in Bee County. 

The Sheriff's department said during the traffic stop one of the passengers, Jose Garcia, threw a syringe out the window. Garcia was detained, and two other passengers, Randy Martinez and Jayme Martinez were asked to exit the vehicle so they could be searched.

During the search, deputies found a large clear bag containing over 40 grams of crystal meth and other drug-related items.

Jose, Randy, and Jayme were arrested and charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and engaging in an organized criminal activity.

An additional charge of tampering with physical evidence was given to Garcia.
