CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - The Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the two-year-old boy who was killed in a rollover accident Wednesday on Highway 358 near Flour Bluff Drive as Aaron Cole.
According to police, a 31-year-old woman driving a Honda Oddyssey struck the back of a flatbed truck that was reportedly driving on the shoulder at a slow rate. The SUV flipped, landing on its roof.
Cole, who was secured in his car seat when the accident occurred, suffered serious head injuries and was given CPR at the scene. He was taken to Driscoll Children's Hospital, but sadly he did not survive.
The child's mother sustained minor injuries.
Investigators continue to look into the cause of the accident. They said there might be a number of factors that contributed to the crash.
This was the 26th fatal accident this year in Corpus Christi.
