CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - The historical society in Bee County is trying to preserve a piece of history while also helping an area high school.
The goal is to record memories from Bee County veterans that took part in the Vietnam War. It's a project similar to one they completed in 2009, in which they documented the memories of WWII veterans.
On Monday at A.C. Jones High School, students were shooting some of those testimonials.
"My biggest hope is that anybody that can hear all of our stories will realize we were the soldiers," Sgt. Harvey Hamrick said. "We didn't start the war. We didn't cause the war. We had to participate in it."
So far more than a dozen veterans have agreed to take part in the testimonials.
