CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - While many local residents are enjoying turkeys and pies, dozens of local firefighters are working to keep everyone safe. To thank them, a local catering company provided a free Thanksgiving meal to fire stations 1 and 3.

For firefighters, Thanksgiving means another day of work keeping the community safe. It also means no time at home to be with their families.

On Thursday, local company Diamond Point Catering gave almost $1,000 worth of Thanksgiving food to those first responders. The meal included turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing with a side of pumpkin pie.

Next year, Diamond Point Catering wants to expand and provide meals for more first responders, including police officers.
