SCHOOL CLOSURES: Area campuses prepare for cold weather blast

An updated list of school closures in the Coastal Bend

Numerous school districts in the Coastal Bend either dismissed students early or closed their doors entirely due to Tuesday's cold weather blast. Some will remain closed or will open late Wednesday.

Here's a list of Coastal Bend schools affected by the weather.

WEDNESDAY CLOSURES/DELAYED STARTS:

  • Agua Dulce ISD: Closed Wednesday.
  • Alice ISD: Closed Wednesday.
  • Aransas Pass ISD schools and offices will not open until 10:30 am on Wednesday. Buses will run at 9:30am.
  • Austwell-Tivoli ISD: Classes begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
  • Bishop Garriga Middle Preparatory School: Open at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
  • CCISD: Will operate on a two-hour delay. Elementary schools will begin at 10 a.m. Middle and high schools will open at 11 a.m. 
  • Del Mar College’s East and West Campuses: Open at noon Wednesday.
  • Freer ISD: Closed Wednesday.
  • Gregory-Portland ISD: Closed Wednesday.
  • Kingsville ISD: Closed Wednesday.
  • M.L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School: Closed Wednesday.
  • Odem ISD: Closed Wednesday.
  • Premont ISD: Closed Wednesday.
  • Rivera ISD: Open at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
  • Robstown ISD: Closed Wednesday.
  • San Diego ISD: Closed Wednesday.
  • School of Science and Technology: Classes will begin at 10:00 a.m for all grades (K-12th) and school will be dismissed at the regular time. 
  • Sinton ISD: Two-hour delayed start Wednesday.
  • Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi: Open at noon Wednesday.
  • Texas A&M University-Kingsville: Open at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
  • West Oso ISD: Closed Wednesday.
  • Skidmore Tynan ISD will have a two-hour delayed start.
