You can read Wind's complete statement below:
To my many friends and colleagues in Communications and the news media:
In October I celebrated 30 years of service with the Diocese and more than 34 years with KLUX Radio. So it is that we begin to look down the road and implement our plan for the future, shedding some of the Hats that I have worn over these many years and passing them on to the younger crowd. The first of these hats will be my duties as Communications Director, or more appropriately, the Public Information Officer for the Diocese of Corpus Christi.
Effective March 1st, after having served 4 Bishops, I will step down as Communications Director with my sincerest gratitude, and special thanks, to Bishop Michael Mulvey for his confidence and trust. I will continue as Executive VP and General Manager of Diocesan Telecommunications Corporation and KLUX Radio.
It is also my pleasure to inform you that Bishop Mulvey has selected Ms. Margie Rivera of my Staff to succeed me as Communications Director. Many of you have come to know and appreciate Margie as she has been my right hand over the past 5 years and often represented me at media functions. I know she will do a spectacular job. During this interim period till March 1st, she will be assisting me in the search for, and the training of her replacement in my office.
Please know that I am most grateful for the respect and consideration you have afforded me over the years. I tried my best to respond, by being accessible and forthcoming. My prayer is that you and your work will prosper. Be assured of a remembrance in my prayers.
