Man Arrested Following Early-Morning Foot Chase

The Corpus Christi Police Department found themselves involved in a bizarre foot chase Monday morning after they found a man sleeping on a sidewalk.

The incident took place just after 8:30 a.m. at Norvel Drive and Belmeade, near Airline and McArdle. When officers woke 35-year old Rocky Cooper, they asked him for identification. That was when he shoved an officer and fled the scene.

Police gave chase, and eventually found the man hiding in a recycle bin. Cooper resisted arrest, and officers used a Taser on him. He was arrested and charged with evading arrest.
