Man Arrested For Running Over Couple at Apartment Complex

Police have arrested a man who they say ran over two people Sunday at an apartment complex. One of the victims shot at the suspect in self defense before he fled the scene. Police say the suspect, is the ex-husband of one of the people he ran over.

Frank Cordova, 43, was arrested at his home on Quebec on Monday afternoon without incident. Police say Cordova ran over his ex-wife and her boyfriend early Sunday morning at the Stoneleigh Apartments at Staples and Curtis Clark. Police say the male victim shot at Cordova's vehicle after he ran them over, but Cordova managed to flee from the scene.

His vehicle was later recovered abandoned at a body shop on Wooldridge, bullet holes could be seen on the outside of the vehicle.

"The 59 year old man who discharged his firearm did not strike anyone else. Their was no property damages thank goodness," said Corpus Christi Police Officer Kirk Stowers.

Both victims were taken to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital and were treated for their injuries. Both victims are expected to be okay. As for Cordova, he is now in the county jail and facing two charges of aggravated assault.
