Man Hit by Car After Telling his Significant Other, "Happy Mother's Day"

     A man riding his bicycle is the victim of the city's latest hit and run accident.  It happened Sunday afternoon near Crosstown and Port.  Police say it was no random act and the person behind the wheel was the victim's significant other. According to witnesses, the man was on his bicycle riding along Trenton Street when he yelled to his significant other, "Happy Mother's Day."  Witnesses say the driver behind the wheel stepped on the gas and targeted the man.
     Neighbor Amy Lopez witnessed the accident telling 3 News, "she just ran over him, he went on the windshield and just bam."
    It happened around 2:30 Sunday afternoon.  When officers arrived, they found out it was a result of a domestic disturbance.  Police officers found pieces of the vehicle on the road.  The victim was conscious and was able to give police a vehicle description and a suspect description.  Officers later found the vehicle on the 1800 block of Hawthorne.
    The victim is expected to be okay but was taken to the hospital to get checked out.
