Man Who Robbed Texas Champion Bank Sentenced to 13 Years

Vernon Tolmie, a Corpus Christi man charged for robbing the Texas Champion Bank back in November of 2012, received a 13-year sentence Tuesday.

Tolmie spoke with 3news, saying that he committed the robbery because times were tough, just moments after robbing the bank. He was then identified by bank tellers and arrested.

Tolmie plead guilty to the charges of bank robbery in February of this year.
