MarkWest Energy Partners Donate $15,000 in Equipment to CCFD

Firefighters were very thankful to the folks over at MarkWest Energy Partners on Monday as they donated $15,000 worth of equipment to the Corpus Christi Fire Department.

The department gave thanks and a plaque to show their appreciation for the donation Monday at the CCFD headquarters in the 2400 block of Leopard Street. The equipment donated is specifically made for firefighters to deal with  Hazmat calls, but the donations go far beyond the equipment.

"Also, we are going to continue to fund their education training for the next three years," said Scott Nelson of MarkWest Energy Partners.

Chief Robert Rocha said the equipment will go a long way in keeping firefighters safe when they respond to Hazmat calls.
