Mayor Reads to Students at Evans Special Emphasis School

Pre-K students at one local school had a very special guest reader on Tuesday.

Mayor Joe Adame visited the pre-kindergarten class at Evans Special Emphasis School. He spent time reading to the children and speaking to them about the importance of education throughout their lives.

"It's quite a responsibility, as mayor, to reflect and be a mentor for them to learn to read, to continue to read and to embrace education in a special way," Adame said.

The children said they were excited to have a visitor in the classroom. The book selection for the day was "Sometimes I Like to Curl Up in a Ball."
