Medical Examiner Takes Stand in Father-Daughter Murder Trial

The Nueces County Medical Examiner took the stand Thursday in the father-daughter murder trial of 25-year old Chastity Longbine and 56-year old Dennis Longbine. There, he made some forensic revelations to the courtroom.

Medical Examiner Dr. Ray Fernandez told the court that the victim in the shooting, 30-year old Jesse Quintanilla, was possibly shot with two different guns. He also revealed that Quintanilla had a toxic level of methamphetamine in his body when he shot and killed.

However, Fernandez could not determine whether the high levels of methamphetamine caused Quintanilla to be aggressive or irrational at that time.

25-year old Chastity Longbine and her father, 56-year old Dennis Longbine, are both accused in that shooting, which happened on May of 2012. The two have maintained that Quintanilla was abusive and that the shooting was in self-defense.
