Middle Schoolers Preparing for Football Season Full of Change

A new middle school football season is about to get underway, and the one year anniversary of the death of Cameron Espinosa is also coming up.

Espinosa was a Haas Middle School student who was stunk by fire ants during a game last September. He suffered a reaction to the stings and died as a result.

Middle school students all over the Coastal Bend are now preparing for the start of the new football season -- a season that is going to be full of change as a result of Espinosa's death.

Kiii News Reporter Michael Gibson went Live from the practice field at Tom Browne Middle School with more on what the Corpus Christi Independent School District has done to try and ensure something like that never happens again.
