Mother Accused of Injuring Her Children Found Guilty in Court

Glenna Guardado was found guilty on six counts of injury to a child and one count of assault, family violence, Thursday in the 148th District Court.

The 28-year old mother was accused of injuring her three-week old baby and her toddler in two separate incidents. Both of her children were taken to Driscoll Children's Hospital showing signs of bodily injury on different occasions.

In closing statements, prosecutors said Guardado hit one of the two children close to 30 times on his body and at least half a dozen times on his face and head.

The punishment phase of the trial got underway Thursday evening.
