Mother Locked Out of Vehicle While Baby Still Inside

Police were called out to the Murphy Express gas station in Flour Bluff just after 3 p.m. Tuesday when a mother realized she had locked herself out of her minivan while her child was still inside.

Thankfully, the engine was still running with the air conditioner on. Police did not have to break any windows to get in, and instead waited for a worker from Pop-A-Lock to arrive and unlock the vehicle.

"The baby was in the car seat in the back," said Brian Stubbs of Pop-A-Lock. "Thank God the car was running today. Because of the accident on SPID, it makes everything really difficult to get to right now."

Police said the child would be just fine.
