Motorcyclist Rushed to Hospital After Airline Collision

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a pickup truck on Airline and Bradshaw early Thursday morning.

The accident happened at around 6 a.m. According to police, the 27-year old motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, but suffered head trauma. He was rushed to a Spohn Memorial Hospital.

Police issued a citation to the 51-year old driver of the pickup for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.

Authorities believe speed may have been a factor in the accident, as the motorcycle speedometer was locked at 60 miles per hour in the 35 mile per hour stretch of Airline Road.
