Multiple Reports Lead Police to Suspected Auto Burglar

After following a trail of tips, police were able to arrest a 32-year old male who allegedly broke into a woman's vehicle in the parking lot of La Palmera Mall Tuesday evening.

It was around 6:20 p.m. when the victim reported to police that her car had been broken into. She said she was walking to her car when she saw the male suspect exiting her vehicle with some of her belongings. She took a photo of him as he walked away.

A short time later, the victim's daughter called police and told them that she had seen the suspect in the area of Brock Street, just north of the mall. She said he was carrying a black bag and listening to headphones that she recognized as her mother's. When she yelled at him, he fled on foot into some backyards in the neighborhood.

Officers managed to find the stolen property in the backyard of a home in that neighborhood.

As police continued to investigate, they received a tip that a male suspect was running on Bradshaw Street. An officer recognized the description and knew where he lived. They went to a home in the 900 block of Bradshaw Street and found 32-year old Timothy Bruce there. He was arrested and charged with burglary of a vehicle.
