Murder Suspect Turns Self in to San Patricio Authorities

A man sought in a homicide investigation turned himself in to authorities in San Patricio County on Tuesday.

The San Patricio County Sheriff's Department said that 29-year old Eddie Zapata, Jr., who was wanted in connection with the stabbing death of 25-year old Ezequiel Flores, turned himself in Tuesday evening.

Flores was stabbed over the weekend multiple times, and died from the result of those injuries.

"Everybody was looking for him, so I think he figured it would probably be safer just to give up. And because they learned pretty quick, they see on TV what happens when they have to kick the door down and go in and get them, and so he didn't want that happening, I think," San Patricio County Sheriff Leroy Moody said. "I think he was advised by an ex-wife that he had best do that."

Zapata has been charged with murder, and Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Yolanda Guerrero has set his bond at $2 million.
