Another Suicide Bomber Today

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - One witness says papers from a Baghdad book
market were floating like "leaflets dropped from a plane"
following a suicide car bombing that has killed at least 28 people.

The blast that touched off raging fires is the largest bombing
to hit the Iraqi capital in three days. Police say more than 60
people were injured in the attack.

The bombing comes on the heels of a major push by nearly
12-hundred U-S and Iraqi troops into the Shiite militia stronghold
of Sadr City. Iraqi troops in that area have set up checkpoints and
have taken a far more visible presence than Americans, who led the
push into the area.

Sporadic car bombs and attacks have hit the capital in recent
days, but none with mass casualties since a blast Friday killed at
least ten people.

Police say at least seven other people have died after gunmen
opened fire on Shiite pilgrims in several places around Baghdad.
