KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - Reports of several clashes with
Taliban insurgents are coming out of Afghanistan today.

Officials say nine Afghan police officers were killed when a
roadside bomb struck a convoy in western Farah province today. A
local police commander was among those killed.

Taliban insurgents attacked a police post in the same province
yesterday, near the border with Iran. The Afghan Interior Ministry
says two militants were killed in the fight.

A spokesman for coalition forces says NATO and Afghan troops
clashed with Taliban insurgents in southern Afghanistan, during a
hunt for an alleged arms trafficker. Again, two militants were
killed while two Afghan troops and one coalition soldier were
wounded.

A local leader is claiming five civilians were killed in the
assault and four wounded. A coalition spokesman denies it, saying
there were "no reported civilian casualties."
