High schoolers now have a chance to get a head start on earning college credits. The program is a partnership between Kingsville ISD and Texas A&M-Kingsville as well as the Coastal Bend College. The agreement will allow students that qualify to enroll in Kingsville ISD's New Early College High School. Students earn both high and college credit at the same time. By the time a student graduates, they would have 60-hours of college credit under their belt.
"It's pretty amazing because for me and my future I'd hope to be a large animal veteran and that's a lot of school," said freshman Raquel Longoria. "So, going in as a sophomore or maybe a junior, that would be incredible. It would save a lot of time and money."
This new early college credit program will launch fall next school year.
