New Litter of Stingray Pups Born at Texas State Aquarium

The Texas State Aquarium is welcoming a few new additions to their family.

A while back, staff noticed one of the female stingrays in their new Stingray Lagoon exhibit seemed a bit bigger. After checking her out, they realized she was expecting, and just last week, three newborn stingrays made their arrival.

"It's the first time we've had a female in our Stingray Lagoon exhibit show up with pups," said Jesse Gilbert of the Texas State Aquarium. "Kind of neat. Kind of expect it over the next couple of years. Hope see more."

Right now, the baby pups are being cared for in an isolated tank at the Aquarium. They should make their public debut in two or three weeks.
