New Speed Bumps in Brighton Village Neighborhood

Residents in one southside neighborhood recently banded together to slow down motorist in their area. The result: a speed bump put in Monday in the Brighton Village.

Residents there signed a petition to send to the City, and after a study, the speed bumps were determined to be needed in the area.

Most say they are happy for the new speed control device, though one resident who actually signed the petition is now upset because of where that speed bump is being placed; right in front of his house.

"Well, the proximity upsets me," Edward Perales said. "That was my concern."

Speed bumps can cost anywhere from $1,500-$2,000.
