Katia Uriarte, a Native of Honduras, grew up most of her life in New Orleans. She graduated from Loyola University where she majored in Political Science and minored in Communications.

She studied in Leuven, Belgium and Mexico City before graduating in May 2000. Her internship at WVUE Fox 8 in New Orleans lead her to her first job as a producer/reporter at WXXV Fox 25 in Biloxi, Mississippi.

In 2001 she moved to Jackson, Mississippi where, for 2 years, she worked as a producer for Newschannel 12 then in 2003 became the only fluent spanish speaker reporter on air in Jackson.

Now Katia's proud to call Corpus Christi her home. She enjoys catching up on her sleep and hanging out with friends. Her schedule means having odd hours but Katia says she loves not just her job but also working with a fantastic group of people. She's the proud mother of 2 cats, Gomer and Drippy. send message
