Michael Gibson

Michael was born in Odessa, Texas and grew up in Odessa and Houston. After graduating from Sam Houston State University, Michael took his first job in broadcasting in West Texas as a reporter, and has since worked in several television markets in Texas and Alabama.

Although Michael is a winner of an Edward R. Murrow award and has received many top honors from the Associated Press for Best Reporting and Stories, making a difference with his stories is the most satisfying. “There was a nursing home in Alabama which someone had complained to me about.” Michael says, “Within a few days, state investigators were at that facility cleaning the place up. It’s always a good thing to help people who can’t help themselves like the people in that nursing home.” Michael has also received worldwide attention for his work. While on vacation with his family at Sea World in San Antonio, Michael witnessed Shamu attacking her trainer during one of the shows, and caught it all on tape. “My family and I were even on a national morning news show talking about our experience at sea world.”

Michael has been married to his wife Tomi for 9 years, has three children and loves doing things with his family. “They (the kids) keep us busy…” Michael says, “and that’s a great thing. We go everywhere together.” send message
