Nighttime 5K Run for Local Zumba Instructor Battling Cancer

The family of a much beloved Corpus Christi Zumba teacher who has been battling a rare form of cancer for almost three years is hoping you will join them in a run on Saturday.

"This is going to help us tremendously," said German Rodriguez, husband of Zumba instructor Christina Rodriguez. "From traveling to M.D. Anderson to medical and hospital bills we've incurred."

Christina Rodriguez is very much loved by the Zumba community, and is known by many for her kindness and great spirit. She remains in Houston undergoing treatment for Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

On Saturday, friends and family are putting together a 5K fundraiser that will be ran at night. It's called the Glow-N-Go 5K, and it starts at 9 p.m. at Cole Park.

Over 500 people are already registered. If you want to take part, you can still register, and volunteers are needed as well. For more information, go to www.glownrun.org.
