Northside of Corpus Christi Gets New Playground Donated at St. Paul United Methodist Church

St. Paul United Methodist Church with its non-profit partner Kaboom and Strike, will build a much needed playground for children on the northside of Corpus Christi.

Sarah Acosta was live at the future site of the playground for 3News First Edition with the pastor of the church and project volunteers.

Pastor Linda Baumheckel says the area badly needs a playground because there are several families in the neighborhood that have children that have no place to play.

The playground is being paid for by the corporate sponsor Strike and the non-profit Kaboom that builds playgrounds all over the country in play deficit areas.

The playground will be built in six hours on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with more than 250 volunteers.
