Officer Arrests Suspected Copper Thieves at Bill Witt Park

The sharp eyes of Corpus Christi Police Department officer landed two suspected copper thieves in jail Wednesday night.

It was just after midnight when a patrol officer spotted two men standing next to their trucks in Bill Witt Park off of Yorktown Boulevard. Upon further inspection of the trucks, the officer found about 300 yards of copper wire in both trucks.

Both men were charged with theft of metal, and both trucks were impounded.
