CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - Cat Osterman seemed right at home in Texas Friday night, striking out 10 in a 7-1 win for the USSSA Pride over the Akron Racers at Whataburger Field.
The Houston native and former Texas Longhorn standout drew plenty of fans young and old who were on hand to see the Olympic gold medalist. Osterman tossed a complete game, evening her record this season at 1-1 and helping her team improve to 3-3 overall.
The Pride and Racers will wrap up their four game series at Whataburger Field Saturday with a double-header starting at 5:30 pm. Former Islander star Sarah Pauly will take the hill for the Pride in the opening game.
