Overnight Shooting Leaves One Man Dead, Police Looking for Shooters

A 36-year old Corpus Christi man is dead this morning, shot outside an area car wash.

Officers arrived to find the man at the corner of Morgan and 15th Street shortly after midnight.

The victim was rushed to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe two men were involved in this homicide. 3 News spoke with one of the victim's friends, who heard the gun shots and ran for help. The friend asked to not be identified.

"I saw two bullet shots in his forehead, in his chest. he was fighting for his life. He was gasping for air," the victim's friend said. "As soon as I was giving him CPR, by the time the paramedics got here he took one last breath."

Detectives believe one of the shooters was a 5-foot-8-inch man, weighing roughly 220 pounds, and was last seen wearing a hoodie. He drove off in a maroon Pontiac Grand Am.
