Owner, Manager of It'll Do Saloon Detained on Illegal Gaming Charges

A total of eight 8-liner machines and $6,700 in cash were seized during a raid at the It'll Do Saloon Thursday afternoon, according to Corpus Christi detectives.

The Corpus Christi Police Department's Narcotics-Vice Division, as well as the CCPD Gang Unit, executed a warrant for illegal gaming at around 2 p.m. at the bar in the 4100 block of Gollihar Road. Several patrons were interviewed, and the Saloon's manager and owner were both detained on charges of keeping a gambling place, gambling promotion and possession of gambling paraphernalia.

The raid was the result of a three-month undercover investigation by the CCPD, in which undercover officers had gone into the establishment and gambled, confirming cash payouts.

Two customers were arrested on unrelated drug warrants, and the Gang Unit was there to investigate rumors that the It'll Do Saloon was a Bandido motorcycle gang hangout.

All of the charges are a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and up to a $4,000 fine.
