Owner Not Indicted in Fatal Store Shooting

A Nueces County Grand Jury has decided not to indict a Corpus Christi store owner accused of fatally shooting a man trying to rob his store. 53-year-old Rodney Duve was facing a murder indictment for the shooting in September of last year. Duve said 39-year-old David Garcia confronted him in his store, asking for cigarettes, and then tried to steal beer. The 56-year-old says he shot Garcia in self defense.
