A rodent has been causing a big problem at a golf course on Padre Island. A few dozen divots and holes have been spotted out at Billish Park off Gypsy Street, and that City park is not alone.
3News has learned that the divots are popping up all over the Island. Officials aren't sure what kind of rodent is doing this. The popular theory is that it's gophers.
"They're very active this year. Much more active then we've seen in other years," said May Beth Christensen of the Padre Island Property Owners Association. "We're moving from the golf course."
There is some money in a 2012 bond set aside to make improvements to the Island that should help in fixing the issue.
