Padre Island National Seashore Tracking Turtle for Nearly Two Years

We have exciting news about Bernice, the Kemp's ridley that we have been tracking for nearly two years. Our collaborators from the Acuario de Veracruz attached the satellite transmitter on Bernice after she nested in Veracruz, Mexico in 2012, and then found her nesting again on April 30, 2014. This is the first post-nesting Kemp's Ridley turtle tracked from the nesting beach to the foraging grounds, and back to the nesting beach, and then documented nesting after her return.
