Police Department Showcases K-9 Units' Training, Loyalty

It's been one year since the Corpus Christi Police Department added K-9's to the force, and in that year, those dogs have been a great help to the police department.

In fact, on Monday the CCPD staged a live demonstration to show just what those dogs are capable of, and Kiii News Reporter Anayeli Ruiz got a chance to suit up and be part of that demonstration.

They're known to many as man's best friend, but to the CCPD, Kimbo and Indy play a very important role in putting criminals behind bars.

It has been one year since Kimbo and Indy joined the force, and in that year they have helped make over 160 arrests.

On Monday, the CCPD wanted to show tax payers how their money is well-spent in this program. They showcased different scenarios that demonstrated the dogs training and loyalty to their partners.

As part of the training, along with Police Chief Floyd Simpson, Anayeli Ruiz got a chance to suit up and be part of the action.
