Police Investigate Second Infant Death in Less than Two Weeks

Corpus Christi investigators are looking into the death of a six-month old baby that was found dead this weekend.

It happened at around 9 a.m. Sunday, on the 4300 block of Leonard Drive. Detectives believe that the parents of the six-month old baby rolled over the baby while they were sleeping.

Just last week, another infant died at the Lexington Manor Apartments. The nine-month old baby also died while parents were sleeping.

The Corpus Christi Police Department, along with Child Protective Services, are investigating both cases.

Sonja Eddleman, a registered nurse and clinical coordinator for Child Abuse Resource and Evaluation Team, or CARE Team, joined 3News to tell us if co-sleeping with your kids is ever safe.
