Police Units Collide en Route to Call

Two Corpus Christi police cruisers were involved in an accident.

The collision happened shortly before 2:30 at Agnes and Staples.

Investigators say both officers were responding to a call at the time.

The front end of one unit was ripped off.

The second unit suffered minor rear-end damage.

"Vehicles will be towed obviously and they'll be going back in service as soon as we're done with paperwork we need to get done. They'll be back on the streets, answering calls," Lieutenant William Broyles of the Corpus Christi Police Department said.

Lieutenant William Broyles says dash cam video will be used to determine who was at fault.

Broyles added both officers are okay.
