Local polling problems on election day

While thousands have turned out to vote this 2016 election day, the day did not come without its voting issues here locally.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - While thousands have turned out to vote this 2016 election day, the day did not come without its voting issues here locally.

There were reports of password problems at Smith Elementary School Tuesday morning where voters said the poll workers did not have the correct password to get the voting machines up and running at 7 a.m. They had a delayed start because of that issue.

A similar problem arose on the westside of town at Crockett Elementary, where voters claimed the poll workers had a missing cord and were not prepared for a 7 a.m. start time either.

The worst of the issues seemed to be at Galvan Elementary, where the system glitched and they were not able to cast a vote until past 8 a.m., sending voters to the Valencia bingo hall while they figured out the problem.

The good news is that those probelms were taken care of and the polling locations were open with no issues the rest of the day.
