Progress Made in Oil Cleanup at National Seashore, Mustang Island

For the fourth day in a row, crews from the Texas General Land Office and the U.S. Coast Guard continued to remove oil and tar balls from the beaches Wednesday.

Tar balls believed to be drifting from the recent oil spill in the Houston ship channel had been showing up on our shores since this past weekend, but officials say things appear to be getting better. No new signs of oil washing ashore were spotted Wednesday, and beach goers say they are happy about the progress that has been made.

Kiii News Reporter Bill Churchwell went Live from the Padre Island National Seashore with an update on their cleanup efforts.
