Protesters Gather Outside of Local Abortion Clinic

Local pro-life supporters were out protesting outside of a local abortion clinic Tuesday.

It happened early in the morning, as nearly two dozen protestors held up signs in opposition of the doctor's office located at the intersection of Crosstown and Morgan.

Dr. Eduardo Aquino's office is the only abortion clinic in the city. The protesters said the president that is elected Tuesday may have the opportunity to appoint two or three Supreme Court justices in the next four years.

"Our hope and prayer is that an administration will be elected today that will appoint Supreme Court justices that will overturn Roe vs. Wade, and recognize the humanity dignity and reality of the human life and unborn child," said Bishop Emeritus René Gracida of the Diocese of Corpus Christi.

Aquino's office said they don't generally comment on the protests outside their offices, but did say the protesters are practicing their First Amendment right, and that the doctor's office is there to serve patients who are exercising their right as ruled by the Supreme Court in the case of Roe vs. Wade.
